Garage Door Before & After in Los Angeles, CA

Photos matter more than promises. That’s why every Servo job since 2015 closes with a documented photo record: the failed part as we found it, the new component installed, and the finished door in motion. These before-and-after write-ups show the same evidence our customers receive after every visit, no filters, no stock imagery, just what the technician saw through the lens.

Torsion Spring Replacement in Silver Lake

Broken torsion spring on a Chamberlain garage door in Silver Lake before replacement
Project photo: broken torsion spring, Silver Lake residence, Chamberlain door

The torsion spring measured 0.243-inch wire diameter and had snapped cleanly at the center coil, leaving the door dead on the tracks. We replaced both springs as a matched pair, lubed the bearing plates, and rebalanced the drum tension. The door now lifts with two fingers and stops level at the halfway point, exactly as it should. Total on-site time: two hours, including the documented photo record the customer took home.

Panel Replacement After a Delivery Truck Strike in Atwater Village

Dented garage door panel on an Amarr carriage house door before panel replacement
Project photo: dented bottom panel, Amarr carriage house door, Atwater Village

A delivery truck clipped the bottom panel and pushed it three inches into the track plane. The panel was beyond straightening; the stiles had split where the hinges mounted. We pulled the track back to plumb, swapped the damaged panel for a factory color-matched replacement, and reset the weather seal. You’d never know the door took a hit, and the owner kept the old panel to show the building manager.

Opener Logic Board Failure in Sherman Oaks

Garage door opener with logic board exposed showing capacitor burn mark before replacement
Project photo: failed logic board, LiftMaster opener, Sherman Oaks

The opener would run for two seconds and stop, and the wall console blinked a code matching a logic board fault. We bench-tested the board and found a burned capacitor; the motor and carriage were fine. Rather than quote a full opener, we replaced the board, reprogrammed the limits and remotes, and ran a full cycle test. The customer saved roughly $230 against a new unit and got the same one-year parts warranty.

Cable Off the Drum on a Steep Grade in Mount Washington

Garage door cable off the drum with visible fraying at the loop end before cable replacement
Project photo: cable slipped off drum, Mount Washington slope

Grade matters on Mount Washington. The door sat slightly out of level, and over years the left cable walked off the drum and frayed at the loop. We leveled the track, installed new 7-foot cables on both sides, and reset the spring tension to compensate for the slope. The door now tracks without pulling to one side, and the owner said it’s the quietest the door has run since they bought the place.

Full Door Replacement on a 1920s Spanish Revival in Echo Park

Old wooden tilt-up garage door before replacement with modern steel sectional door
Project photo: tilting wood door, 1920s Spanish Revival, Echo Park, before replacement

The original tilt-up door from the 1920s had sagged corners and a tongue-and-groove panel that had rotted from sprinkler overspray. We measured for a custom sectional to fit the odd opening height, matched the stucco lines with a Clopay smooth-face door, and added a side-mount opener to preserve the open ceiling. The new door raises and lowers without a sound, and the photo record shows the original iron hinges we preserved for the homeowner.

Emergency Roller and Hinge Failure in West Adams

Garage door roller shattered at the bearing with the door hanging on one side in West Adams
Project photo: shattered roller bearing, West Adams, door hanging at an angle

Saturday night, door half-open, one roller shattered and the panel cocked sideways. The homeowner called at 9:40 pm; our technician arrived at 10:15 pm with the parts on the truck. We replaced all ten rollers with 11-ball nylon-bearing units, rehung the panel, and adjusted the track spacing. Door was back in service by 11 pm, and the customer had the photo record on their phone before we left the driveway.
